I just watched Rutgers play another horrific game at Penn State. It’s unfathomable how bad they’ve been in 2021. However, there are other teams in the Big Ten. Let’s look at what this weekend has in store for us.

#7 Michigan @Purdue, 7 PM, FS1

Michigan rebounded from losing their first game at Minnesota on Saturday with a 87-63 win over Maryland on Tuesday. The Wolverines 7-1 in the conference & 12-1 overall, good for first in the Big Ten. Let’s see if they can keep it up against Purdue, who had a big win of their own at Ohio State on Tuesday.

Maryland @ #17 Minnesota, 2 PM, BTN

Minnesota has been one of the biggest surprises in the conference this season. After a 75-57 win over previously unbeaten Michigan, the Golden Gophers look to get over .500 in Big Ten play. Maryland lost to Michigan on Tuesday, dropping them to 2-6 in the conference & 8-7 overall.

#15 Ohio State @ #10 Wisconsin, 4 PM, CBS

This is the best game of the weekend in my eyes. The Buckeyes look to bounce back after blowing a late lead to Purdue Tuesday. They’ll need an efficient performance from Duane Washington to beat the Badgers, who defeated Northwestern 68-52 on Wednesday.

Northwestern @ Penn State, 7 PM, BTN

The Wildcats will look to shake off the loss to Northwestern as they take on Penn State in Happy Valley Saturday night. The Nittany Lions just picked up their first Big Ten win against Rutgers last night.

Rutgers @ Indiana, Noon, BTN

Like I said in the intro, Rutgers is terrible right now. Five straight losses. Nobody playing well. Maybe they figured something out down the stretch at Penn State last night? Who knows. Regardless, Trayce Jackson-Davis and the Hoosiers, fresh off a big win over #4 Iowa, await them on Sunday.

I know it’s NFL Conference Championship weekend, but there’s still plenty of awesome Big Ten basketball.
